White Hall Baptist Church Leadership
White Hall Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Jesus and leading our congregation to follow Him.
Matt Ellis
Pastor
Matt is a husband, father, pastor, and teacher whose life reflects a deep commitment to faith and family. He married his sweetheart and best friend, Kim, on May 10, 1997, and together they’ve raised three sons. Their family has grown to include a daughter-in-law and a cherished granddaughter, bringing so much joy to their lives.
In June 2025, Matt began serving as pastor of White Hall Baptist Church, where he strives to be faithful in preaching, teaching, writing, leading, and caring for his congregation. His greatest joy comes from seeing lives changed as folks apply the Word and enjoy the blessings of living in conformity to God's Word.
Matt earned his bachelor’s degree from Lexington Baptist College. He pursued graduate theological training at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary (Memphis) and completed his Master’s degree at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville).
Outside the pulpit, Matt finds refreshment in hiking and exercising — activities that reflect his conviction that God doesn't merely want our hearts; He wants every part of us, including our bodies.

Vincent Carman
Senior Adult Visitation Pastor
Vincent was called into the ministry on December 8, 1966, and has served for 57 years. During that time, he was on staff at a church in Miami, FL, and planted a church in Framingham, MA. He also served as a pastor in Indiana and Kentucky.
In the Tates Creek Baptist Association, Vincent has served as Brotherhood Director, Church Training Director, Evangelism Chairman, Moderator, Missions Director, and Partnership Missions Coordinator. He led the association in partnerships in Africa, Panama, and a Home Mission Partnership with Treasurer State Baptist Association in Montana. He also participated in disaster relief efforts in Illinois, North Carolina, and Mississippi.
After his retirement in December 2012, Vincent and his wife, Jeanie, found a home at White Hall Baptist Church. He serves as Senior Adult Visitation Pastor, which involves visiting our senior adult shut-ins on a regular basis.
Vincent's life verse is:
Joshua 1:8-9 (KJV): “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Gail King
Secretary
Gail has served as White Hall Baptist Church’s Secretary for 18 years. To say that she is a huge blessing to our church would be an understatement. She has come to see this congregation not just as a workplace, but as her family—deeply committed to the Lord Jesus, to the Word, to prayer, and to one another. Before joining the staff at White Hall, she spent 29 years as an Administrative Specialist with the Kentucky State Police Post 7, a role that shaped her dedication to service and attention to detail.
At White Hall, Gail’s greatest joy is doing whatever she can to support the church and its leadership. Whether behind the scenes or in day-to-day ministry, she finds fulfillment in helping the body of Christ thrive.
Outside of church life, Gail loves to read, and she finds her happiest moments in the mountains, where the stillness and beauty of creation refresh her soul.
Gail’s family is a central part of her life. Her son, Matthew, is the joy of her heart. She also has two brothers - Steve, who lives in Richmond, and Gary, who resides in Wahiawa, Hawaii. Rounding out her family are her two loyal German Shepherds, Sam and Murphy, who bring daily companionship and joy to her home.
